Bay of Islands’ Cape Brett is Motukokako, Piercy Island as it was named by James Cook, is New Zealand’s iconic Hole In The Rock. Its sheer cliffs rise 148 metres out of the sea with a spectacular 16m-high hole at its south-western end…so big you can drive a boat right through!
It is a place of childhood memories, going there with my Grandma then later with my own family. I have a strong vision of how Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock line up. One day I will walk to Cape Brett.
